WEEK 5 — GRATITUDE
Helping Kids Notice and Appreciate the Good
Gratitude means more than remembering to say “thank you.”
It means noticing and appreciating the people, opportunities, and good things around us. That’s also the central idea of our original gratitude lesson.
This week students are learning:
“I notice the good, and I show people I appreciate them.”
Practice Specific Gratitude
Instead of:
“Thanks.”
Try:
“Thank you for helping me with my form.”
“Thank you for encouraging me.”
“Thank you for practicing with me.”
Being specific requires us to stop and actually notice what someone did for us.
Why Does This Connect to Self-Esteem?
Healthy self-esteem isn’t only about noticing what’s good about ourselves.
It also allows us to appreciate others without feeling like their strengths take something away from ours.
We can recognize:
I have value. You have value. And I appreciate what you bring to my life.
⭐ THIS WEEK’S STAR CHALLENGE
Give 3 specific thank-yous this week.
Then think:
Who do I appreciate? Why do I appreciate them?
“I notice the good, and I show people I appreciate them.”
🥋 Self-Esteem is the JOY of Being Myself.
